About Local Impact Network

Local Impact Network Founder Kevin Lawler knows that small acts of good can have a big impact.

After Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, he spent a year helping the city rebuild. When a global pandemic shut down local restaurants, he launched an online meal kit marketplace to help safely distribute meals while keeping restaurants in business. When a mass shooting took place at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, he was on the ground within hours, working alongside a team from World Central Kitchen to feed families and emergency responders.

Throughout his career as an entrepreneur, nonprofit executive, and community organizer, he has dedicated himself to strengthening our communities by acting locally and inspiring others do the same.

Doing Good is Good for Business

As a restaurant owner, Kevin received countless donation requests from local nonprofits, community organizations, and schools. He saw first-hand that when beloved local businesses give back, it adds up to make a big difference in the community. Then, as a nonprofit executive, he was on the other side. He was the one asking for donations and support, but coordinating with businesses was challenging.

He knew there had to be a better way for local businesses and nonprofits to collaborate and support one another.

Large companies have dedicated teams managing their corporate social responsibility, community relations, and charitable programs. These teams provide strategic guidance, build their brands, and tell the story of their company and the causes they support.

As a percentage of their income, local small businesses give back even more than larger companies. But they lack the resources to employ dedicated social impact teams.

So he built Local Impact Network, which helps local businesses grow and thrive, while maximizing their social impact. With Local Impact Network’s easy-to-use technology, businesses save time and money, manage their social impact initiatives in one place, open up new revenue streams, and grow their customer base.

All while supporting great causes in their communities.

Local Impact Network is built on the belief that communities are strongest when local businesses thrive, people connect and collaborate, and community organizations have the resources they need to take on society’s toughest challenges.

That’s why Local Impact Network empowers the dreamers, visionaries, and change-makers working to grow their businesses, maximize their impact, and bring meaningful change to their communities.

Why Now?

Our communities need it.

People are increasingly isolated, divided, and glued to their phones. Funding cuts are threatening critical programs and services for those in need.

Local Impact Network works to bring people together to support local businesses, provide resources for great causes, and build community.

What We Do

Local businesses hear from hundreds of local nonprofits, community organizations, and schools each year. We help them build relationships with those groups, identify opportunities to make an impact, and bring people together to raise money and awareness. All while bringing new customers into the business and strengthening its brand.

Businesses that work with Local Impact Network build stronger relationships with their customers and boost employee morale. They reach more people on social media, generate more local press and PR opportunities, and build a brand that local community members want to support.
